Tennyson Trail Walk

Walk through the middle of rural West Wight

This is an amazing walk from the central town of Newport, through rural West Wight to the furthest westerly point of the Island at The Needles.

Thr Route starts in  Carisbrook, and climb up on the the downs, through fields and in to the back of Brighstone Forest. Once through the forest you will come out overlooking the south west coast of the island.

Crossing over Lynch lane into the Jubilee Car Park, carry on over the downs t o the west, over book downs and over the Freshwater Golf Course.

Dropping down into Freshwater bay you there are toilet facilities and a café or two to get refreshments (some are seasonal!)

The last part of the walk is over Tennyson Downs to The Needles where you can get a bus back to the start point.
